InfoDefense Celebrates its 5th Year Providing Information Security Solutions
Dallas, TX, Sept. 14, 2006 ---- On September 18, 2006, InfoDefense will celebrate its 5th year providing information security solutions to its commercial, government and non-profit clients. Over the past five years, InfoDefense has provided information security assessment, computer incident response, computer forensic, security architecture, regulatory compliance and information security training services as well as best of breed security products to its clients.
InfoDefense currently focuses on the financial services, healthcare, government, high-tech and retail industries with specific service packages designed to meet the specific security requirements of each.
InfoDefense History
InfoDefense was founded as Secant Networks, Inc. by a group of seasoned information security architects, including Kevin Wheeler, InfoDefense’ current CEO, in the summer of 2001 and later incorporated on September 18, 2001. The company was originally formed to solely provide network security services. The service offerings included managed firewall, virtual private network and intrusion detection services. It quickly became apparent; however, that organizations were looking to partner with an information security company with a comprehensive suite of offerings that could assist them in addressing continually increasing security threats as well as emerging security related regulatory requirements. Therefore, Secant Networks added several new products and services to its portfolio of offerings to meet client’s needs.
Early in 2003, in order to better reflect its true corporate identity, Secant Networks, Inc. changed its name to InfoDefense, Inc. Since then, InfoDefense has experienced significant growth. InfoDefense CEO, Kevin Wheeler comments, “As a result of legislation and increasing threats we’ve seen information security emerge as a major corporate concern.” In the past five years InfoDefense has assisted companies in becoming HIPAA compliant, preparing for Sarbanes-Oxley audits, responding to computer security incidents, assessing information security risk and designing information security capabilities.
